I recently conducted a session on addressing modern security challenges and implementing the zero-trust model at Global Azure 2024, hosted by Microsoft in Perth.
It was an enlightening event with a wealth of technical content presented.
Following is the presentation I did at the event.
I had the privilege of leading two technical sessions for Arq Group, a division of NCS Australia, aimed at facilitating the transition to Microsoft Teams and Azure. Previously reliant on Slack, the organization now seeks to embrace the Microsoft ecosystem, and I was honored to guide them through this migration process.
The sessions saw a remarkable turnout, with over 400 enthusiastic participants actively engaging in the discussions and activities.
I was privileged to conduct a technical session at Global Azure 2023 event held in Microsoft Perth. My topic for the session was "Migrating on-premises workloads with Azure Migrate".
Azure Migrate is a free service which you can use as the hub for your entire cloud migration process.
With the presentation I did several demos including VM migration and database migration. The audience was very engaging and I received several positive feedback.
Following is the presentation
Recently I did a technical session in Perth Azure User Group at Microsoft Perth. The event was themed as Azure Open Source Night.
My session was on "Efficient Data Streaming with Event Hubs for Kafka"
Following is the presentation I did
Following is the code I demonstrated. In this sample An Azure Function written in .NET 6 pushes events to an event hub, those are consumed by Apache Kafka consumer written in Java.
Following are the configuration changes you need to perform.
1. In Producer, change the EventHubConnectionAppSetting in local.settings.json file. You can get the connection string by navigating to SAS policies and in the policy you created for sending.
{
"IsEncrypted": false,
"Values": {
"AzureWebJobsStorage": "",
"FUNCTIONS_WORKER_RUNTIME": "dotnet",
"EventHubConnectionAppSetting":"CONNECTION"
}
}
2. In Consumer, change the Event Hubs namespace and connection string in Consumer.config file.You can get the connection string by navigating to SAS policies and in the policy you created for receiving.
bootstrap.servers=EVENTHUBNAMESPACE.servicebus.windows.net:9093
group.id=$Default
request.timeout.ms=60000
security.protocol=SASL_SSL
sasl.mechanism=PLAIN
sasl.jaas.config=org.apache.kafka.common.security.plain.PlainLoginModule required username="$ConnectionString" password="CONNECTION";
